Alright.

This is the “explain it to me like I eat crayons” guide to setting up the forum like an app and getting push notifications. If you can install Discord, you can do this.

STEP 1 — MAKE AN ACCOUNT

Go to: https://apocalypticaarcanum.com/forum/ (you're literally already here)
Click Sign Up in the navigation.
Enter your info.
Confirm your email when it asks you to.

That’s it. You now exist on the forum.

STEP 2 — INSTALL IT AS AN APP (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART)

📱 On Android (Chrome):

Open the site in Chrome.
Tap the three dots in the top right.
Tap Install App (or “Add to Home Screen”).
Confirm.

Done. It’s now an app. If prompted, allow notifications. If you miss that prompt:
Settings → Apps → Forum → Notifications → Turn them on.

📱 On iPhone (Safari only — not Chrome):

Open the site in Safari.
Tap the Share icon (the square with the arrow pointing up).
Scroll down.
Tap Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add.

You now have a real app icon on your phone. It opens full screen. No browser bar. It behaves like Discord.

If you don’t see notifications later, go to:
Settings → Notifications → Find the forum → Turn on “Allow Notifications.”

STEP 3 — TURN ON PUSH NOTIFICATIONS INSIDE THE FORUM

Once you're logged in:

Click your profile icon (top right).
Go to Settings.
Find the Notifications section.
Turn on push notifications for the things you care about (mentions, private messages, new posts, etc).

If your browser asks “Allow notifications?” or "Opt-in".
Click Allow. Not Block. Not Ignore. Allow.

STEP 4 — TEST IT

Reply to this post.
Have someone @mention you.
Send yourself a DM from another account if you want to be dramatic.

You should get a push notification just like Discord. If you don’t:

Make sure you installed it as an app.
Make sure notifications are allowed at the device level.
Make sure they’re enabled in forum settings.
