Amnon the Tormentor

While Amnon’s true origin is unknown, there are many who have hired or have been caught by the bounty hunter who share stories, no more than speculation at best, as to where he comes from. Some claim to know the exact layer of the Abyss that Amnon called home, others who have been captured by him are adamant that he climbed straight out of the fires of hell to torment them. One thing all the stories have in common is that he truly delights stalking his prey, and it has led to many creative nicknames for him. In East and West America, where he first became renowned, he is known as “Hell’s Shephard”. In Nepal they call him “The Shadow Stalker”. In most places they simply know him as “The Tormentor”, a name that he enjoys and even uses himself.

The truth is that no one, not even Amnon knows where he comes from. The first memory that he recalls is hunting a man for a bounty, but he cannot recall why or how he got the job, only that he is good at it, and has continued to make his living hunting others for sport and profit.

While he keeps his face hidden behind a mask and always wears a hood, his purple skin and long-spined tail are a dead giveaway to his heritage. He keeps his head shaved down to the skin, his long twisting horns grow from his temples and follow the lines of his skull to the back of his head where their points almost touch. He does not care about the distrust or disgust he is treated with and seems to actually enjoy making others uncomfortable. It is said that he enjoys the dark places and is even rumored to be able to travel through the shadows, disappearing into one, and reappearing from another to stalk his prey. He has been known to hunt with a massive “demon wolf” by his side, but like most things involving the Tormentor, it seems to be nothing more than a rumor. Between his bladework, magic, and deadshot aim with a crossbow, he’s been known to hamstring his prey and continue to stalk them, reveling in their increasing fear as he draws closer laughing from the shadows.
