When encountering an unfamiliar proper noun, slow down and sound it out syllable by syllable rather than blending it into surrounding speech. Names derived from real-world languages follow their source language's pronunciation where noted. Names that appear invented should be treated as phonetically consistent — if a name has been pronounced a certain way earlier in the episode, maintain that pronunciation throughout. Do not substitute nicknames or shortened forms for full names unless the text itself uses them.
